It's about time. Really!
That's what this is about.
It IS about time.
Time to start living.
Time to live like you never lived before.
Time to......whatever.
It's about time.
...and we only get one shot.

Warm in Heart, Worn on Feet
This was my second year helping with this, and though my feet are a little worn, my heart is very warm. This day always leaves me both in awe and extremely touched by the generosity of the public. I was manning the canned tuna and salmon area.
1500 boxes of food were packed and distributed. Awesome.
If you get A-Channel News, you'll catch a glimpse of me with tuna and salmon in hand. I am wearing a red and white scarf.
Merry Christmas...it is surely coming......

Holiday Thoughts
This is really the first opportunity that I have had to blog. Or any real interest. Just too crazy busy.
Anyway, through all of the crazy busy, I have managed to take some time to reflect. It always happens at some point during the season. When I pull out the Christmas decorations from years past, listen to the Christmas carols. It's a feeling of almost sadness.
But then, I manage to turn the sadness around, and that sadness turns to warmth. That warmth happens when I give.
For me, this is the season for giving, not receiving. There are so many people who have nothing. They may have lost everything in a fire. They may have had nothing to begin with. For me, it's a way to show thanks.
Yesterday I gave. And I will continue to give.
And I will be warm inside.

Political Correctness Gone Crazy
The recommendation is to use HA-HA-HA instead.
Can you just picture it? Santa screaming HA-HA-HA like a maniac? Possibly scaring the reindeer right off the float?
I can't help but think of some other Christmassy words that could be eliminated from seasonal tunes:
- don we now our gay apparel (from Deck the Halls)
Frosty the snowman, is a fairy tale they say (from Frosty the Snowman)
to save us all from Satan's power (from God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen)
This is crazy (or maybe I am not supposed to use that word).
oh-oh-oh

Christmas Leftovers
A little I guess.
Leftovers don't only have to be food either. They can be any little thing that is leftover from Christmas. Maybe you left a Christmas stocking hanging in the bathroom (what the heck was it doing there in the first place is what I want to know?). Maybe you left Santa's plate of food at the fireplace (geeross!). Maybe it's a forgotten Christmas candle. It could be anything.
You know the familiar ones. The guy who leaves his expensive fancy lighted reindeer up all winter. Or the trees with the pretty white lights that are still on timer in July.
One of our neighbours left his outdoor holly tied to his patio railing until June. The birds were getting confused and thought that this was a very cool nesting area.
When we were going to visit our last house (before we had bought it), the owners had Christmas wreaths hanging up on the doors.
It was April.
The best one that I can recall was again, a neighbour. These guys were hardly ever home. They were usually out of the country working to make a living. The Christmas tree was set up and decorated very early. It was a beauty (we could see it through their front living room window). Then, in May, we were driving past and noticed that there was this tree shape in the front window. The fully decorated tree was still sitting proudly in the front window.
I don't know. The old rule that we tend to follow is to put the tree up in December and get it all down before January 6th (can't be too superstitious you know).
ciao!

On My 8th Day of Pre-Christmas
Okay, so we now have My 1st Day of Pre-Christmas, My 2nd Day of Pre-Christmas, , My 3rd Day of Pre-Christmas, , My 4th Day of Pre-Christmas, My 5th Day of Pre-Christmas, My 6th Day of Pre-Christmas, and My 7th Day of Pre-Christmas.
On My 8th Day of Pre-Christmas, my brand new king size bed gave to me,
8 hours of pole-vaulting kitties
...7 hoards of humbugs
......6 pesky telemarketing calls
.........5 HOURS OF TREE DECORATING
............a 4 dollar Charlie Brown tree
...............3 truckloads of food
..................2 pooped people with tired bodies
.....................and a brand new king size bed.
Eight hours of polevaulting kitties! What's up with that? It's so easy (like taking candy from a baby! - another musical brain worm for those of you who remember).
Last night was the sleep from hell for My Sweetie. Now, apparently, as I am told, I snored through the entire thing. But I do remember waking up the odd time to sound of the growling bear, which was My Sweetie snarling at either me or the cats or both. Why? Because CoCo was trying to get on top of the bed so that she could have some quality time with her Mommy and Daddy.
The new bed is a few inches higher than what we had before. This makes it a little more difficult for the kitties to get up. Since BJ has a bit of arthritis in his hind legs, we placed a little stool at the bottom of the bed for their highnesses, and BJ uses it, but CoCo? No way Jose!! She prefers to run toward the bed then leap to try to get on top. Of course, there is always the lovely sound of kitty claws on fabric. EEEEk!
I am not sure what is going to be on tap for tonight. Probably more leaping through the air kitties, but that's just what they do. They are animals, and My Other Sweeties.
Right now I have to go downstairs and wrap a giftie for someone that I don't know. I think it's for hubby's secret Santa thingy.
I am officially on vacation as of tonight.....YAY! Tomorrow morning I am going to be doing some local volunteer work for Christmas. But I'll be back later on in the day.
Ciao amigos and amigas.....
Merry Christmas!
