Twas the Night Before New Year's

....and all through the house.....

Wait! No! Not again! I'm not doing that again....at least not THIS year. Maybe next year (which is very quickly approaching....tick tick tick goes the countdown). That will give me a whole year to work up to the 12 Days of Pre you-know-what.

The day was spent shuffling around the house, gathering some of the Christmas decorations, and storing them til next year. We also went out to see what the stores have left over from the pickings (not much from what I could see, but I WAS able to score a few deals on some baskets). For dinner, I made my special ribs, and we have a special dessert. Maybe we'll head into downtown Sleepy Hollow to see what's going on, or maybe we'll just get into our jammies and read and ring in the new year quietly. Don't know yet.

2006 was a good year. We didn't have to fight for our jobs, we had some great sailing, I started to venture into the blogworld (where I met some really great people), we linked up with old friends and met new friends. Mostly, we had fun doing whatever it was that we were doing. If we can all manage to have some fun then it's all worth it. Because it's a long life (some would argue otherwise), but whichever way you look at it, try to have some fun along the way. It certainly makes things more palatable.

Whatever your plans are for this evening, I wish you a safe evening full of fun and laughter and good times.

I'll be here tomorrow if you should decide to stop by.

Cheerio!

Happy New Year to you too!!!

You mean you've taken off your decorations already? I'm too lazy and keeping mine still. They're not coming down soon - not before the 14th anyway. (smile)

hi! Some decorations are down and away, but a lot are still up. Everything will be down before January 6th for sure (bad luck you know, and we wouldn't want to taunt the bad luck gods).

We just lazed about the house this year. Pretty much as always lol. We watched a movie and had a snack dinner. For new years we will be having ham and boiled cabbage.

What Mike said, plus... we went to bed early but I was still reading when it hit midnight so I leaned over and gave Mike a kiss :)

I love this clipart you used!

You know, standard rule is that each hour has 60 minutes, each day 24 hours, etc., and so, it should all pass by in equal increments of speed -right?

But, if you're bored or depressed or whatever along those lines, it drags on and one, seemingly forever at times. On the other hand, when you are enjoying what your are doing, getting a chuckle in here and there, just making life a fun ride, it just seems to fly by almost too doggone fast then. The only exception being if you have a deadline to meet and are having problems getting things to mesh and come together, then that theory just goes right out the window and time speeds by even faster then!
