When I was a small girl there was a lake close to our house divided by a major road that we traveled all the time. Each morning and each afternoon local traffic knew to slow down and stop to allow the ducks to cross from one side of the lake to another. It was always an exciting ride to somewhere if I was lucky enough to see the ducks crossing. Thanks for summoning up that memory for me.

There's a mall that I often go to, and in the spring there's a lot of bird/duck families around the little ponds that are situated near the mall...near traffic! Not good. A few years ago I was with my dad around the area and a family was crossing the road and I was like "DAD, STOP!"...he stopped, luckily we didn't cause an accident. Then a few weeks ago I was driving in that area and again a family crossed in front of me...but there wasn't any other traffic so I was able to stop without a problem.

I hate to think of how many babies die each year because of the traffic in that area. Really sad.
